INFORMATION ON MOVIE
The movie on the right illustrates the durability of our product when exposed to extreme heat. The temperature of the flame from an oxy-acetylene cutting torch is 6,300 degrees F. As information, wood burns at a temperature range of 450 to 950 degrees F. This means that the Derma-Gard shirt in the video survived a thermal event that was six times the heat that would be generated in a wood fire.
OXY-ACETYLENE TORCH TEST
The photo on the left illustrates a test which was conducted in our factory. The shirt on the left is a standard 100% Cotton T-shirt of the type that is worn today by most firefighters. The shirt on the right is a 100% Ring Spun cotton T-shirt which has been treated using the Derma-Gard fire resistant process. This photo represents how these shirts look after being exposed to an extreme flame source. Both of these shirts were exposed to a flame for 12 seconds from an oxy-acetylene cutting torch. The standard shirt has been burned completely, the Derma-Gard shirt is still totally intact.
